Bellevue Home

Bellevue, Washington is a beautiful city situated due east of Seattle across Lake Washington. It is waterfront along Lake Washington with a view of Seattle as the backdrop. It is considered to be Seattle's eastside, although it is incorporated as its own entity. The population is 110,000. This beautiful setting along with a smart, business-friendly crowd has made Bellevue one of the best places to live in the Greater Seattle area.

Upscale, high-tech, and clean, Bellevue has become the hub of Seattle's growing eastside. There are wonderful retail and entertainment facilities downtown highlighted by the renowned "Bellevue Square." In addition, downtown plays hosts to many high-end offices, an Art Museum, King County Library, and the Meydenbauer Center.

Founded in 1869 by William Meydenbauer and incorporated as a city in 1953, Bellevue spans 31 square miles between Lake Sammamish and Lake Washington. To the East are the snow-capped mountains of the Cascades. To the South, Mount Rainier dominates the horizon, and to the North, Mount Baker marks the proximity of the Canadian border. To the West, two floating highway bridges link Bellevue to Seattle.

The Bellevue School District is not only effective in producing a great educational opportunity, it is also technologically advanced. There are computers in every classroom. In Bellevue the future has become a reality as there are a number of classes taught exclusively on the computer. With a total enrollment of over 15,000 students in 2000, the Bellevue School District consists of 16 elementary school, 7 middle schools, and 5 high schools.

This is a city with a plan. It is estimated that there are 121,000 jobs in Bellevue. This comprises about 11 percent of the county's total. And because of excellent planning, and a pro-business posture, Bellevue's employment is expected to grow between 25 and 30 percent over the next 20 years. The end result will mean an additional 30,000 to 35,000 new jobs.

Bellevue is a great place to be now and in the future. It offers a safe, upscale environment, high paying jobs, and easy access to Seattle which one of the nicest big cities in the U.S. Having Seattle as your "backyard playground" has some really nice perks like professional sports viewing. Seattle is home to the Seahawks (professional football), the Mariners( professional baseball), Supersonics (professional basketball).Not to mention every cultural activity imaginable.
